Community Chaplain Network

Many people face crisis situations on a regular basis in our own neighborhoods.

Those times can include and are not limited to:

  • a medical diagnosis

  • an accident

  • family relationship issues

  • loss of employment

  • unexpected major life changes

  • disease

  • and more.

We prefer to think we have support systems in place. However, people in a crisis do not tend to think clearly.  In the Bluffton area where many are new to the area, support systems (family, friends, and close associations) are limited.

Coming out of the pandemic, we have become accustomed to being isolated from our community, including our neighbors.  It is in a time of crisis that we need others to walk with us for some time until we get our feet on the ground.

Just like those who experience tragedies, those having less traumatic crisis moments need support.  It is now possible to have the services of a neighbor who would be a trained and certified chaplain with Hope For The Community.

Community Chaplains will be calm in the midst of chaos.  They will be supportive in any way possible and manageable.  They will intercede for you with others and God.  They can help those suffering to see beyond the moment, consider those who can be supportive, and encourage them along the way.

Chaplains certified by Hope For The Community will have 25 hours of training, have access to the Director John Ring on an as-needed basis, and engage in 8 hours per year of continuing training and quarterly meetings to examine their care potential.

We at Hope For The Community take their role seriously as they will do what the golden rule says, “Do unto others as we would want to be done to us.”
